Literary festival on diversity and independent living
The festival now in its second edition
Everyone is particular and, by virtue of their particularity, driven to take action. However, they must find joy in their particularity.
Franz Kafka, Fragments.
The AutOutAut literary festival is an itinerant artistic project that follows a cultural and social pathway in the footsteps of autism, aiming to promote tangible life projects for each individual autistic person to support and complement the “dopo di noi” law (no. 112/2016). Aut Out Aut has been designed to welcome, to be a home and a composition of all differences, so that differences are understood as having a place in all directions.
The first edition (link) took place from 20 to 24 September 2023 in Monserrato, Cagliari and Iglesias, thanks to the economic and organisational contributions of both municipalities and the Region of Sardinia. The guests included important authors such as the writer of the beautiful and successful book “La lucina”, Antonio Moresco, the poet and essayist Antonella Anedda, the philosopher and aestheticist Federico Ferrari, CCCP and CSI guitarist Massimo Zamboni, Gabriella Caramore author of the radio programme
“Uomini e Profeti”, the singer-songwriter Andrea Chimenti, the poet and translator Valerio Magrelli, the playwright Rocco Familiari, creator of the Taormina International Theatre Festival, art critic Alfredo Accatino, with his essays on visual art outsiders, the poet Silvio Raffo, the most important translator of Emily Dickinson in Italy, directors Jonny Costantino (La Lucina) and Rita Deiola (Svegliati Europa), world-famous illustrator Daniele Serra, blues poet Alberto Lecca, poets Roberta Castoldi and Franca Mancinelli. Each intervention was accompanied by the artistic performances of director and actor Senio Giovanni Barbaro Dattena, with actress Maria Loi, dancer Valentina Puddu and the figurative art of maestro Mariano Corda and his Bestiario.
The 2nd edition of the 2024 Festival
Once again this year, our association won the Sardinia Region’s Call for Proposals for the creation of reading promotion projects and literary festivals of regional, national and international interest. In collaboration with the municipality of Iglesias, the Department of Education, Psychology and Philosophy at the University of Cagliari, the Ente Concerti Città di Iglesias, Il crogiuolo, Vox Day and many others will mark the beginning of the second edition.
